Re: Air Conditioner - other ideas?
Check out my mod http://macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=693 where I use a common 5k btu Costco-sourced AC mounted in a removable companion way hatch. No special tools or skills required. BTW, I posted a second mod with more pics. It works well and can be slipped off and stored in your garag...

Re: Front Hatch - arm to hold it up?
Some critical attachment comments are included in my similar mod for my 26x. The custom slip fitting likely will not be necessary since most of these pull apart to allow laying the hatch full open. http://macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=548

Re: Questions about installing a kicker outboard
I agree with Kelly H. The issue of the long shaft vs. dinghy...I solved this by adding a vertical extension to my dinghy transom...1/4" aluminum plate sandwich, SS nylocks etc. only about 4" as I recall. I have not posted that mod but could email pics if you are interested. You need the lo...

Check out my 2008 mod http://macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=1001 Like most mods...measure twice, cut once. You need to mock-up and check tilt, and be sure that the prop is properly exposed below the hull to get some push. On a ten scale, I would put this one at an 8....and I have done many...

Re: aux second kicker / mount ?
Take a look at our fall 2008 mod http://macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=1001 Seems to work well for us. BTW, we put a small transom extension on the dinghy to allow the long shaft better prop position. We had a companion mod about off season storage of kicker motors.

Re: Kicker mount on Mac X, starboard mount
Thanks re our mod....re tender and long shaft...we used some aluminum plate/plywood and extended the tender transom ...pretty simple...frankly, for low HP kickers I don't see much performance difference.

Re: Arch with Davits, Would you buy it?
There is an excellent commercial arch available at http://www.joystickpylons.com/towers_universal.htm I have seen pics from one installed on a 26X located in southern sierras...not sure if he is a member of this board. I do have a couple pics he shared with me. Not sure about the vendor ....hard tim...

Re: Dinghy Davits
Hey folks....this issue got pretty well explored a while back...R. Rae of this site customized a commercial Australian reverse-tow mod that really seems to be the best solution I have seen. Do a search for Dinghy Tow....bottom line, the dinghy is backed in transom to transom, hinged with a couple ri...
