Full Circle...

I think it was in 2005 we bought our 26M, then sold her to buy our Pearson 365 Ketch to sail to Mexico with the family and we now live aboard full time on our Hudson Force 50 Today my son and I went out to look at a Mac26x for our return to the Mac family. After spending 4 summers in the Sea of Cort...

Mac's Move to Florida

A marine refrigeration company we purchased (http://www.technauticsInc.com) was not only the next door neighboor to the Costa Mesa Mac factory but put the refrigeration systems in the Mac 65's. So what's the latest scoop on the companies move out of the high tax and regulation state of California to...

Re: Mac Thoughts from a Former owner and Long time Cruiser H

Crime in Mexico....?? We cruised Mexico full time for 4 years, me, wife and two kids from Puerto Penasco to Southern mainland and in all that time the only "crime" we saw was a stolen dingy or motor at night. Sure if your style is buying drugs, getting drunk in bars, and hanging out in bor...

Re: Mac Thoughts from a Former owner and Long time Cruiser H

We have spent cumulatively a year in La Paz during our 4yrs in Mexico, and If it isn’t paradise, well then I don’t know what is! You can anchor for free in the Bay or take a marina slip and we just can’t wait to get back down there. There are several Mac’s that I saw down in La Paz (mostly X’s) and ...

Re: MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How are things in the cruising life? Hola Amigo.... Living aboard in Morro Bay, California isn't exactly as exciting as cruising down in Mexico, but it is still pretty darn hard to complain. The plan is to get the kids out of school and then head back South to Mexico, where the streets may not be p...

Mac Thoughts from a Former owner and Long time Cruiser Hobo

While it has been a few moons since we sold our Mac 26M and moved on now to two larger boats (first a Pearson 365 Ketch and now a Hudson Force 50), the bottom line is that my son and I still talk about buying a Mac and heading for the Northern Sea of Cortez for summer vacation. In fact, the longer w...

Re: How do cruisers wash their clothes?

One of the great things about cruising Mexico was the availability of CHEAP Laundry service. When Lori got tired of doing the ships laundry in a 5 gallon bucket and toilet plunger, we would haul it in to a lavandaria and for about $120 Pesos, get a bag back of washed and folded laundry. Our boat now...

Re: Estuary Anchoring

wow good to hear from you again rich, sounds like a great life you have now. mike The problem with living/working from your boat in Mexico is that you lose the ability to complain and have a bad day! I still miss my Mac and one day want to take one form San Diego to La Paz with the Baja Ha-ha rally...
