Just got back to North Vancouver. I will be uploading the photos from Ganges to the MYCBC.ca website later this week. I will also forward the individual participant pictures to each of you as I take them off the camera. Thanks to all of you for making the get together a memorable event. Rick Worthy

Duanes Site / Canada Customs
Very nice work on the site Duane. Lots of good info there. I have been gather some as well. I will try to post some of it here as I pull it together. I don't know if the "Can I bring my gun?" was a serious question but I got a lot of info at the Canada Customs booth at the Vancouver Boat S...

moving NDI dispute info
Alright be selfish  keep this information to ourselves. forget that any Mac boat plying Canadian Waters may be needing this info not just the flotilla participants. We still have 6 months to go and we already have 11 pages in this discussion. I just thought it would make sense for the NDI stuf...

NDI/CHS
What are the chances of getting this thread transferred elsewhere? Although getting e-charts may be of interest to Flotilla members, discussion of this dispute in our flotilla discussion clutters up the flotilla thread and makes it difficult to follow important trip related messages. Can you take it...

tides and currents revisited
July 27 Maple Bay to Thetis Flood in the am decreasing to Slack at Sansum Narrows at ~10:11. The narrows is 2 knm from Maple Bay. The ebb peaks in mid afternoon at 2knat Sansum but you'll be long gone by then. The next ten knm is in Stuart Channel which the charts indicate has a maximum ebb of 1/2 k...

Tides and Currents
It is always of value to navigate around these islands and the narrow waterways between them when the water is slack(ish). Currents are very complex in this area and it is sometime useful to have the current atlas at hand when traversing these waters and planning any cruise. The Current Atlas for Ju...

As has been discussed before, I think we really just need to lock in the Stuart and the Ganges stops as the main functions, and provide a list of other possible stops people might want to consider. The route in between can be tailored to suit individual needs. I agree with this approach. I also bel...

More than one route possible too!
Duane et al. My proposal with route B was not to displace Duane's first effort but to offer an alternative. I think we can look forward to two anchor weekend locations then Macs going this way and that all throught the islands regrouping in Ganges. I don't have answers to all the questions. ( I will...

Plan B
Using the two Anchor locations of Stuart Island the first weekend and Saltspring Island on the second weekend. I have plotted an alternate itinery. I deliberately left off the how to get there and how to get home routings. http://eworthy.thatip.com/photos/routeb.gif Call this Plan B - Circumnavigate...

Busby Berkeley does CanAm Summer Flotilla
A few of us MYCBCers were discussing options to the plan outlined by Duane. There are several other good places to visit between the 'Anchor' weekends of Stuart and Saltspring Islands. However not everyone will have the time nor the inclination to visit alternate locations. So I have been envisionin...

Lyall Harbour
I have no experience at Lyall Harbour other than a quick stop at the fuel dock and the local store for ice. Its a long bay open to a Norwester with a long fetch. The ferry dock is at the entrance quite a ways away and the ferry service is less frequent than many of the other islands so less wash to ...

Nice Work with the chart and preliminary nav data
Nice work Duane! As you can see from Duane's work none of these legs are of any significance. A Mac powering at pace can make most any of these hops in an hour or so. Those more interested in the journey than keeping their fuel supplier in business can sail any of these legs in way under 5 hours. My...
