Re: An alternative to the bump

I like the idea of backing the trailer back into the drink after pulling out a few feet, and then recranking. I never thought of doing that.

Needing to do the MacGregor Bump has never been a challenge; this idea makes so much sense.

Re: cockpit cushions for X

I can only respond to making the pattern. I have an :macm: , but making the pattern would be no different on an :macx: . Re: new sail: in stock mac sails vs custom sails

I really can’t answer your question about speed. At the last Annapolis boat show (I know you are in Canada), I bought a new Genoa from UK Sails in New York State, USA. They were very accommodating. I don’t know if, and where they have offices, but it is worth an inquiry. http://www.uksailmakers-ny.c...

I don't seem to be able to get admin to change my email address associated with this web site. Have emailed admin multiple times but no results. If you receive the...

Re: Swallow Coast 250

I just don’t get it :?

This is just another Mac wannabe. It’s filling the void left by MacGregor’s closing, but there are still plenty of Mac’s out there to be had.

As Russ has pointed out;
Sill, I can buy 4 Macs for the price of this boat.

First, as you are coming about, let the jib fill and billow out before you pull the leeward jib sheet, and be certain the now windward sheet is loose. Second, As the jib is coming across, start rapidly correcting to windward. It just takes timing, and a feel for the boat. And pay attention to the t...
