Hans, it is no problem running an M with just the foresail or spinaker. I have sailed with a 150 Genoa only several times and I do not have running backstays. As parrothead said, with the boom straight the topping lift and main sheet to the traveler act as a backstay. You could try it first and see ...

Jim, we leave our boat in the water for 6 months at a time up here in the PNW and you will love it. You should flush the engine out each time it is used. I would do it with the engine down, rabbit ears on and run for about 3-5 min while flushing. Then I tip the motor up and keep it out of the water ...

I have had both a 2001 X (White hull) and the 2005 M (Blue hull). The blue hull has proved to be much faster. I was purplexed at why this was until I read "NiceAft"s reply. Since we live in the Pacific NW the water is cold. In the summer the blue hull is heated by the sun and thus heats th...

If you put the boats & trailers bow in and on a slight cant you can stager the bows, one slightly past the other. I believe this is what is done but don't quote me. Also I was thinking of making a wooden skid that would attach to the trailer frame and would allow the boat to be slid into the con...

Well folks after a year of excuses I finally gave up and cancelled my enclosure order with Dowsar. For the last 2 month I was told that my enclosure was made and in the shop, just had to be shipped. I called several time to see if it had been shipped yet, once at the beginning of the day hoping they...

I ordered a Dowsar full enclosure a year ago this week for my M. Art has gone through rough time with his canvas supplier and I have been patient with all of that. Now that he has a new supplier he wanted to make sure the product was right before he sent one across Canada, and I can see that. But no...

Looking for MacGregor Dealer in UK

Does anyone know of the name of a dealer in the UK? Other areas in Europe could work but our preference is the UK. I am trying to find out what changes are made to the MacGregor for the EU market. Also the cost of purchase of a boat over in Europe.

Any help would be appreciated.

Phillip, thanks for the info. Sorry for taking so long to reply but these 12-14hr days are cutting into my computer time, can't wait to retire. The prices from that site are not exactly what I have found here but since I will not be shipping until the early spring of 2010 this is just a budget figur...
