do you think I can use a tandem with a single rider without moving the seat (doesnt sound good) A lot of that depends on how much you plan to use the tandem with just one person. We have a Pamlico Excel tandem and have managed any number of times to use it as a single for short times. It's OK empty...

Those models are quite effective BUT over time they do become menopausal. Though they rarely catch fire in this condition (at least while sleeping) they can cause burns on more sensitive skin.

I bought a Zodi Combo X last year to use as a tent heater until we get our boat. It's a great thing. I can get 10-15 degrees off ambient in a nylon tent in about 20 minutes. A couple of points - Noise - The heater uses a 12v fan and though not terribly loud, you DO know it's running. It's probably p...

make sure to have a plan to store the propane cannisters somewhere outside the cabin. FWIW - I saw a mod somewhere where a fella had taken a length of fat PVC, drilled a bunch of holes in it, put caps on the ends and hung that from his lifelines as storage for propane. Seemed like a good (and cheap...

Would those of you who find the risk of using propane below decks acceptable also smoke a cigarette while pumping gas?

Hello Cap Since the S is a displacement hull, it will not benefit from the big motors. I've learned that a 6 HP will push the boat around alright, a 9.9 seems to be the motor most prefer (better for fighting currents) but many folks prefer a 15 HP that's quieter because it doesn't work as hard for t...

Well, isn't this charming! We haven't had a good round of "I don't really want your opinion, I want you to justify my choice" on this board for quite some time. I can't wait until they get "loopy" and start answering their own questions for us. Hey fellas - did you know that the ...

Meg & I took a 5 day with dry ice in the bottom camping last summer and that kept things frozen (and I do mean frozen!) for four days. They say to top the dry ice with regular ice cubes but I'd go one step further and cover those cubes with a towel or something to keep your stuff from turning in...
