Re: Weight of 26 x helm seat for lift

Our seat has a snap hook attached by a lanyard at the starboard side. I don't know why it is there .

The lanyard is stock. It attaches to the port lifeline when the helm seat is up.

Re: still stumped adjusting shrouds

You have to use the winches mounted on the aft cabin roof when using the mast raising system.

Re: lots of yaw at high speed under power

#1 he's talking about an X guy's. Different animal. #Dlanderson mentions that the board is suppose to be up over 5-6Kts. This is true. But, lets think this thru. The reason the board is there in the first place is to counter sideways movement. At hi speed the lift on the board would be so great the ...

Re: lots of yaw at high speed under power

Drop the board 2-4 inches. I don't sail anymore. Only power. The board is the key. NOT TRIM TAB. That's only for countering torque. My X steers fine at high speed.

Wow, boy do I have a black eye. I didn't see that one coming. When did Mac announce that? What about parts availability and warranty coverage now?

Re: Rudder rope?

I like the idea. But, how far does it stretch when you pull up a water filled rudder? Depending on how tight you have the rudders shimmed, they can get pretty heavy. I assume you just route it the same as Mac sets it up using stopper knots at the rudders. Any pic's?

I use old CD's. Just add any number as needed. Works good for me and lasts a long time. I don't use rock and roll though 8) .

Re: boat pulls to starboard under power

As mentioned by all above, the trim tab needs adjusting. You CANNOT adjust the trim tab for all speed and tilt conditions. For every action there is a opposite reaction. The torque of the prop, RPM and prop walk causes the boat to pull to starboard. As you change RPM (torque) and pitch (tilt) you ch...

Re: Origo 2000 stove mounting

Jimbo,
There is not a gasket. I bought and installed mine myself. It is miles away in storage so I can't look at it. But, I do know I never had a scraping problem when opening it. I installed mine in 1999. Maybe there has been a design change but I don't think so.

Re: Anchor light alternative?

None of this is a legality issue? You better believe it is Bob. If you anchor outside a designated anchorage anywhere and get hit you can bet your insurance company and Admiralty law are going to eat you up. The colregs are not meant to conform to your piont of rule or what any of us deem as common ...

Re: Steering issue :(

I purchased my 99X in April of 99. It came with All the updates. None have been added since.I still have the original rack and pinion steering. It has always been very easy to steer. Only 2 fingers are required. Almost like it's hydralic. Maybe the cable length is the key. It hangs half way down to ...

Re: foward compartment batteries

I placed my 10 gal. ridgid water tank in the forward berth area. I was still able to replace the foam blocks. I had to cut one or two of the blocks to shape but was able to get them all in. I'm not sure however how much venting space wet batteries would need.

Re: old guy with a problem

Ok guy's. This getting alittle out of control. Just to answer the man's question is simple. If you have one end struck at the top and the udder end hanging down, just push up on the end hanging down and the udder end will come right down. It's udderly simple. :D Seriously though. I had the same thin...
