Time to name my boat

I bought a 1999 :macx: in July this year. It's in awesome shape and just got a new motor...Tohatsu 50 HP TLDI w/ remote power tilt/trip...electric oil injection. It's time to name her and get some lettering. Does anyone have some clever name ideas and advice on lettering? I'm a deviant here in Kema...

Re: Motor tilt up or down when not in use

One of the owners of the place I keep my boat is a police officer. She'd said they've never had a theft. Either way, I'm moving my boat this weekend to a place where I can keep her rigged up...and just back her in the water when ready to go. My owners manual for my new Tohatsu says leave the motor ...

Re: Motor tilt up or down when not in use

Just park next to someone with a 60hp and your motor is safe. My boat in MDR was next to the M with the 140 on it. Mike Inmon Funny, you know I did go look at a few of the boats to see how they were locked. Right next to mine is a looks new 25HP Evinrude E-Tec...just compression screws holding it o...

Re: Motor tilt up or down when not in use

Many engines can be raised & lowered with the switch on the engine (no key needed). I wouldn't worry too much about a thief getting to the bolts, especially the lower ones. He would need to enter the cabin to put a wrench on those to unbolt properly . Besides many of the outboard thieves today don'...

Motor tilt up or down when not in use

The old guy who sold me my fishing boat told me that when my boats in storage on the trailer to leave the motor tilted down...something to do with keeping the carborator from gumming up on the sides. I alway did during the 4 years I owned that boat (Kenner 18.5 w/ 90 HP Johnson)...she always ran gr...

Hi ya Dan, and thanks. Hey, I agree kids are "overprotected" in many cases. You are absolutely correct...there's something "built into" man that makes adventure natural. Happy sailing :!: Be sure and give us a "Texas Howdy" and an air-horn-blast when passing by on the water...its always great seein...

Re: Mac in Storm in Aegean

I've caught a lot of cr*p for buying a Mac. All my classical sailing buddies tell me how poorly they are made.
It's good to see a Mac survive.
Thanks for the post.

Re: Insurance on boats

I bought insurance for my new to me :macx: . Policy with unlimited towing cost me about $300/year...that was with a 9.8 HP Tohatsu I just installed a brand new 2010 50HP Tohatsu ($5100) and 2 new batteries... I'm glad I saw this discussion thread, as I'll have to update my boat value with Boat US. ...

Re: Follow jessica around the world

Im wondering...where are the parents' minds concerning the welfare of these kids ? Louis, my 1999 :macx: is down in Kemah too; on the hard now. Look forward to following your threads and perhaps picking up some mod/mait advice. Anyway, regarding parents' minds...I must say I think it's great. Kids ...
