Re: Roller Furling Installation

Thanks for the feedback.
Is the installation difficult? I guess the installations are made "mast down". If I don't upgrade to 5/32" head stay, is there any wire cutting involved?
Thanks again.

Re: Need more power

Thanks for all the replies.
I think I've settled on a 50 HP E-TEC Evinrude with power tilt and trim...electric start.
I really appreciate all the feedback.

Re: Need more power

Just reade all the posts on "If you could do it all over again" and those who've just resonded. I think I'm going to start with a 50HP in mind and maybe go 60 like the new 26M's are equipped. My fishing boat has a 90HP 2-stroke. It's loud and guzzels gas at top speed. My 9.8HP Tohatsu is quiet and s...

Need more power

I just bought a 1999 26X. Took it out for the first time on Saturday in about 12-15 kt winds. Did not sail well with only the main, but once I hoisted the jib, she balanced and sailed great. But here's my issue. The boat came with a 9.8 HP Tohatsu. While protected from the wind, I felt I had good en...

Re: Rock chips from trailering

The folks at West Marine told me to just re-gel-coat over the chips.
That's what I did. Mixed way too much and wasted 1/2 a can. It worked good though.
Will be sanding and rubbing compound tomorrow.
Thanks again

Re: Rock chips from trailering

Thank you so much. Greatly appreciatied. I also read in one of the repair posts about using some stuff called Marine Tex.
You ever used it. I may try both on different spots.
Thanks again.

Rock chips from trailering

I just bought a 1999 Mac 26X...love it. Only one cosmetic problem. There are rock chips in the bow hull...behind each car wheel. I guess the previous owner trailered fast down a gravel road or something. Any suggestions on how to repair this. The chips are through the surface and expose the fibergla...
