Re: Heat in your boat for VERY cold climates

In German Boat forums the have hundrets of threads of this cheap china heater. I think I can say all are positiv. I think I will not install one at the moment. It is not the money, they are cheap. But it will take 1000 hours to install, to have it out of the way. Second you need diesel. So most of t...

Re: New Teak and Holly Cabin Sole

I did try a curtain but it would not keep its shape and needed to be anchored to the bottom of the tub to keep the curtain inside the shower pan. I tried one of those expanding folding shower rooms too: I figured if I could turn it upside down it would fit the area - but I couldn't get it to work. ...

Also added a Schaefer Snapfurl CF500 furler so i can easily change head sails from the foredeck to optimize for wind conditions.
Why it is easyer with a snapfurl cd500 to change the sail than with the CDI furler? Is the system different?

Re: perfect AP for a Mac? (better than "BOATS"?

cool. yes I am intetrested in your photos. Do you still have my e-mail? I plan to mount a wlan cam over the AP-tiller. If needed I could turn the cam on and watch the position on the mobile on the helm. Thats the plan so far now... Will see if this easy mod will help. To find the mid position I do t...

Re: Forestay on the las 3 strands!

In fact all new may be best in any case. But: This crimp connections are said to be very strong. Ones I tried a loop to crack with a jack. The crimps hold but the SS cable broke. And there is no alluminium in the crimps. Its copper... But you are right of course. new is better. But still the loop is...

Re: M forestay

Prishi, I can understand. I had the same: The ringdings disapeared when the :macm: was most time alone during the winter. Lukili as I was I just loosed the ringdings and the bolt stayed in place. And it did not concern the forestay but the shrouds. So nothing bad happened. When I trailered ones for ...

Re: Dyneema Rigging

Personnaly I don't see the advantage in dyneema in rigging (ok, you save weight...). As soon you have your own crimp tool it is easy and cheap to replace and do repairs underway. It is easy to get wire rope anywhere... And it does not chafe so fast. Whats the problem with trailering? I take the rigg...
