Re: Prop for a Yamaha F70 on a 26M?

well, cannot help in calculating props. The only I know is: try different props. All theorie does not help when in real live it is different. The rule I know is you should reach max rpm from the motor, then you get max HP out of it. I got this with my merc60 with an 14/10. But maybe also one could s...

Re: New Outboard Recommendations

I don't know where you live... Often is said watch for good dealer help. Here around mostly where are lakes and sea the big brands have their dealers. So if you have 5years of warenty... no bad so far. As far as the brands are quite similar over all in the same hp range... price was real thing too. ...

Re: BWY Disc Brake Kit

If you really want do rinse your drum brake scew out a whell bolt and rinse it. I never used disc brakes in saltwater. But I use drum brakes (AlKo EU) and slip ones a year (1 in/1 out) in saltwater since 2012. Never rinse the sistem, later a slip in the lake... autorinsing... Interesting: I never ha...

Re: Aluminum Trailer - Need help

really interesting topic. If you can bend - go for it. Take care you get the rigth material that is bendable. Alu has different styles of alu. There is one that even you cannot bend, others will be easyer. Guess which one is the cheaper... Check for one that knows the rules. Why not weld the connect...

Re: Aluminum Trailer - Need help

Don't know if it was allowed in a traler: But maybe it is easier to weld the H-Channel (I-Beams). You could prepare all, cut in perfect shape and then bring to a welder. I guess it will be strong enough when you put overlaps in every direction. If you have cut all - the welder is ready very very fas...

Re: New Outboard Recommendations

Well I think all the big brands run ok.
But when I boght my motor there were differents from up to 3000 bucks...

Nobody knows what will be in 10 years... Are we allowed to burn fuel? What will be the price to do it? And so on...

Re: Location on loop trip

By the way:

What kind of prop do you have?

Do you use max speed and planning? If not was it smart idea to use a "much to big prop", so you could save fuel when dooing just 6knots. With a big prop the engine would turn in lower rpms, so milage should improve.

How do you deal with this?

I like the idea of the 22’ should be a lot easier for single handed trips.
Why a 22foter shall be easier in single handing? Does not look logical for me.

The 26 looks perfect for me. Don't know why people want to get smaller. My :macm: is already small enough... :D

depth gauge and Raymarine

Hello I think about installing a depth gauge. My idea ist to connect it to the raymarine ev-100 system. So the display p70 is already available. So why not take a combination sensor with water temp and speed through the water and mount it extern at the stern? Then go to the backbone somewhere and wa...
