Re: track mounted swivel cam cleats

I just received a pair a couple of weeks ago...if I can figure out how to upload a photo, I'll do that. I can also email the pics to you BOAT, if you wish.

Re: Stern Rail Seats Mod

Yeah, those seats looks so cool. I thought Dowsar made some for the :macm: but I only see the :macx: seats on their website http://dowsar.com/options.htm . At $1K, they are on my wish list, but I need new sails and a few other things first. BWY doesn't have the seats for the X, but I think u12fly is...

Re: Sailing Watches

The Tissot is quite nice, but the $1200 pricetag is just a little steep. The I-phone is about half that price, although it probably doesn't fit as nicely around the wrist...and you need a data plan, though maybe not for most of the watch-like functions.

Sailing Watches

So as I am heading into work this morning, in bitter -24○C temperature, my windshield cracks along its entire width probably from a chip I had not attended to. As it was still dark, I contemplated the xmas lights and thought of the holidays now past and the gifts given and received and one in partic...

Re: Time to sell my Mac...looking for tips/advice

I've bought and sold a number of things on the used market, including homes, cars, musical instruments, tools and whatever else. The key is that your item must be clean and uncluttered. A little bit of staging can help sell a boat just as much as a house. Make sure that the boat and motor are shiny ...

Re: genoa sheet - crossing cockpit - solution?

You can check with Bill at boats4sail.info. He sells something called Bill's EZ Cleats. I'd like to order some as well, but can't get hold of him by email. Probably need to call.

Re: Toronto Boat Show 2013 Jan 12-20 2013

I'd really like to go, but the timing is difficult. It's a 4 or 5 hour drive, so we'd have to hotel and make a stay of it. My wife will just be returning to work after a year of maternity leave and taking time off you first week back is a little awkward. I'm not sure I sell that trip enough as a fam...

Re: Is Marina power metered?

We don't have metered power nor metered water. All the docks have essentially unlimited access, but boats with AC units pay extra $100 flat charge per AC unit. All boats pay $37 per foot for the season, but it always struck me as odd that I pay for a 26 foot boat but only get a 20 foot dock. Our sea...

Re: Factory Sails??

Congrats on the 26s - I bought one and kept it for just one year before getting an X, but I loved it. I'm new at this sailing thing too, but I've looked into sails extensively and I have to agree with Bob - I'd go with Judy B. Just search the forums for her name and check out her posts - tons of rea...

Re: 26x winter cover

Azzarac, that dock idea is absolutely brilliant! And it looks really good too. Now I'm going to have to do something like that whenever I build my MacGarage. Actually, I might build something smaller scale in the spring for the spring prepping season. Sure beats carting things up a ladder each time.

Re: 26Mac X Drains

Our PO had put in plugs for both the head and galley sinks on the outside, which was quite good for preventing water from going in and out. Wish I had noticed them before I needed them to drain out! :o

Re: fogging Honda 50 and winterizing Mac X

For boat winterizing, there may be a sort of check list in the previous forums. I emptied everything from the boat, including the cushions (as per Admiral's wishes). We store the cushions in the basement with dryer sheets tucked inside to keep them fresh. I also tossed a bunch of sheets in the boat ...

Re: fogging Honda 50 and winterizing Mac X

I'm new to the forum and new to sailing alltogther. Bought a 1990 26s last year and sold it this year to get a 2000 :macx:. Love it, can't get enough of it, can't stop thinking about next season (another 179 days before the marina opens again  ). Anyway, I'm usually shy about posting because I ...
