Re: Check list

This willl give you a pretty solid overview of what is involved in a marine survey. Some of it is more invovlved than what a Mac would require, but it's a pretty good read. http://www.pcmarinesurveys.com/Marine%20Survey%20101.htm I agree that Macs are pretty simple boats. So you want to be sure the ...

Formal Training

I just finished up my first Canadian Power and Sail Squadron course (Boating Essentials) and enjoyed it. Learned quite a few things about navigation, charting and a variety of other topics. I will probably do a few more of this organization's courses locally and perhaps venture out to do some more. ...

Re: Swap Meet!

One brand new oil filter for Honda BF50A, still in the box. Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada Hey Starscream, I could use this. But instead of shipping it, we could meet up for coffee or beer? Or beer and then coffee? My in-laws are on the South Shore of MTL and we'll be there at some point over t...

Re: Aliases

Yeah, I was sure, being from Ottawa, that you were bilingue taime1, and it referred to what Kevin wrote, without the apostrophe. But it was not so. :( Funny thing is, I'm French. I am bilingual, but English is my second language, my kids don't even speak English yet (they will). For whatever reason...

Re: Aliases

I used Taime1 for a number of online applications. I don't really know where it came from, I think it dates back to a licence plate I once saw on a car in high school. I like it because its double meaning. You can interpret it as a derivative of "one who is tame". I am pretty tame overall. OTOH, you...

Re: Fall colors

These were taken on September 28th. The leaves look pretty green in the pictures and have since changed considerably. Winter sure is coming. It's only 4°C this morning. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! I'm hopping to get a few more outings before the haulout. Canada's Parliament Buildings: http://i62.tinypic.com/mtn...

Re: 26M Lazy Jacks

I have a set of LJ on my :macm: as well. Love them, they make lowering the main so much easier, single handling or with crew. The only thing you probably to be mindful of is to be as straight into the wind as possible as the battens may get caught when raising if you are off the wind. I've never had...

The Winnebago towing the Waterbago. I think my mind just exploded. Wow, just wow. I love it. And yes, I am jealous.

Re: New tow beast time

I picked up this 2006 Ford Expedition this spring. It's a great ride, but tough on gas. I do use it as my daily driver, but the daily drive isn't very far. http://i62.tinypic.com/2qvvy9c.jpg When not towing, the onboard computer gives me about 15.9l/100kms and on our recent trip to Lake Ontario, we ...

It's a good thing you don't have a white hull, you wouldn't be moving at all!

Re: Need Destination/Marina Suggestions

Well, after doing some searching and thinking, we found another cottage on Wolfe Island and booked it for a week as of this Sunday. Looks like the true macvacation will have to wait. It's all good, the cottage will allow us to have guests, namely my brother and his small family who are going through...

Re: Need Destination/Marina Suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions I'll pass them along for the Admiral's review and get back to you with an update. Dlanderson: sounds great, but too far for us this year. Niceaft: will for sure look into, I think the Admiral will enjoy that idea. Starscream: I would really like to do something like that. ...

Re: Need Destination/Marina Suggestions

Thanks Mastreb, that´s what I was thinking. We have camped out on the boat a few times, but always at our own marina.

I dont´t have my laptop with me and I'm usin an Ipad, so I don't have acces to Active Captain. I did try to download an app (SeaIQ), but the base map is useless to locate marinas.
