Need Destination/Marina Suggestions

Here's the story: In May, I booked the perfect cottage at a great price at in a real nice place (Wolfe Island) on Lake Ontario. Last week, in praparation, I pulled the boat out from the marina and took it home because this week, the family and I are in the Niagara Falls area (just got back from Cana...

Re: Mac Mod Gone Terribly Wrong

That's a nasty accident Phil. I feel for you. Here's to hoping you do make a full recovery, in time.

If I were closer, I'd gladly offer to take you out to get some sailing in.

The offer stands if you ever come to Ottawa.

Very nice shots!

We are headed to Wolfe Island at the end of August - so we'll check out the north end of the lake.

Engineering Toolbox - Cool Bookmark

I came across this site and thought I'd share it on the forum. It can be handy for all sorts of maintenance projects and mods, a bit on the nerdy/geeky side and well beyond my basic understanding of engineering and physics, but hey, it might well come in handy one day. http://www.engineeringtoolbox....

Re: Just brought her home!

It may be that both the engine and VHF are directly wired (with fuses) to the battery and that there may a fuse between the battery and the main panel which has popped. I had a similar issue once with my :macm: and it took me a while to find this "master" fuse which was located above the aft birth, ...

Re: Honda Cooling System Indicator (pee hole)

That's a pretty good idea K9. I was thinking along the lines of getting something from another, more available in my area, outboard manufacturer. I could look at something similar.

Forgive my plumbing ignorance, but how is that fastened?

Re: Honda Cooling System Indicator (pee hole)

My service manual didn't contain much information in relation to the indicator. I did scour through the online owners manuals and I think I may have found the part. The exit port seems to be the same on most of the model years. It's called: Grommet, Water Check - part # 82873-ZV5-000. I also put in ...

Re: Honda Cooling System Indicator (pee hole)

I just went through the manual where it is referred to as the "cooling water check hole", which is quite a descriptive name and a little funny. If it's just a hole, perhaps my tubing is meant to simply rest on it? I'll have to check the motor the next time I'm there. I'd be a little surprised if the...

For members that are located near a Canadian Tire store, the "Mastercraft Digital Temperature Reader Product #57-4554-4" are on sale for $20 (from $100) - I think until June 8th. canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/tools-hardware/measuring-tools/specialty-measuring/mastercraft-digital-temperature-reader-0574554p...

Not until you mentioned it - great idea! But the downloads don't work due to the big brother office firewall :( .

So close!
