Re: Is this a 26X?

I say it every time, but I never catch the boat the first time I watch the video.

Re: Lower Cape Fear Mac Roundup

He hasn't sold it yet!

I'm hoping Tom can join us, I'll reach out to the 2 other Mac Owners in my Marina.

Any issues opening it up to non-mac members?

Lower Cape Fear Mac Roundup

Good Morning, I know it's one of the coldest weeks of the year, so I'm trying to look ahead to the spring to stay warm. For the past few years, there has been a Mac-Rally in Southport/Wilmington area and I'm hoping to continue that this year (even though the area lost 2 of it's best sailors to Missi...

Re: Main Halyard aft ... like a Cat!

I really like this idea, only 1 piece of hardware to install, it's a lot more KISS than having lines weave through 2-3 blocks before getting to a clutch/cam.

Question, what working load do you think that piece will need? Do you plan on use the Cam as the only thing securing the line?

NICE!

You're ahead of me; however, the wife and I agree on a 5yr plan to move up to 30-35 foot Catamaran to enjoy with our growing family, and hopefully retire on one day.

Re: Lead weights for ballast?

Have you noticed any improved performance under sail since you added the additional weight to the keel? Better upwind performance? (I've been thinking of doing that myself)

Has there been anymore strain on the pivot points?

How under power, any issues there?

Re: Autopilot

I'm really considering one too since I single hand a lot. I've considered the EV-100 wheel mounted one on my 26x and have thought about connecting Ray Marine Tiller AP directly to the steering linkage connecting the motor and using a remote to operate it. Then there is Vic's prototype still in the w...

Anyone looking for a Mac 65, $28,500

Right here in my hometown. Think I can single hand it?

I hope the price isn't a typo!

Why would anyone shrink wrap your boat? Isn't it hard to use that way?

Re: A/C box for Mac26x still being produced (Billy Box)

My boat had one installed by the previous owner and I love it.

Even though I don't use it a lot, it adds an extra seat in the cockpit and helps keep the boat ventilated. On those hot nights at a dock (or if you have a portable gen on board) it makes sleeping nicer.

Re: 2015 Holy City (Charleston, SC) Roundup 23-25 October

I really wanted to go Vic, it was one of my goals this year; however, I'm out of town that week for work flying in to make a pre-scheduled for a Father-Son cub scout camping trip.

Just bad timing so I'll have to go later.

Hope everyone has fun!

That video is tricky, I had to watch it a few times before I saw the Mac. :D

Looks like a fantastic trip, I hope to get mine down there sometime.

Re: Solar panel and TV setup

I've been looking really hard at a 12v dvd led tv like the ones long haul truckers use and mounting like comment or above.

Wouldn't have to worry about an inverter when not on shore power.
