Re: Daggerboard trunk on a 26M

Talking about rain intrusion. :( Don't forget about that rub rail, I had water getting in to the bilge with no visible streaks inside the cabin. After listening to the advice of some of the forum "elders" I used silicon to seal the entire rubber strip and it great reduced the amount of water I have ...

Re: New Yamaha 70

"And to the gentlemen saying they cant throttle in reverse, Ive applied extra power in reverse a time or 2, are you sure?" Thanks for that! I looked into it, and it was an adjustment that is in the throttle box. The factory did not preset it. Awesome, I'm glad you got that fixed. I really can't exp...

Re: Slip fees

I pay ~$200/month (I pay yearly upfront every Feb) for a 35x15 private slip with 2 fingers in the Carolina Beach Basin. I love the location as it's close to Snow's cut for easy access to the Cape Fear River, the ICW and Carolina Beach inlet for easy access to the ocean. Amenities include a clubhouse...

Re: Tattoo 26 Production Suspended, factory relocating

It'd be awesome for North Carolina to land the new plant. I'd also humbly submit the Southeastern North Carolina (ie. Wilmington) as a possibility. I know that local leaders have been offering incentives, the railroads are being improved with the new Railway car company setting up shop and there is ...

Re: who did this seat mod

The Previous owner of Private Island did cut the bench part out, filled in the holes and reattached it with a piano hinge. so I can fold it up to stand of walk around, but still have the seat to fold down when I want it.

It's probably my favorite modification.

Re: New Yamaha 70

Interesting they recommend ethanol free gas Other than at airport, you can't get that where I am in upstate NY Luckily here there are several choices for ethanol free gas, but its always premium, so I havent run anything but 93 ethanol free in it. And to the gentlemen saying they cant throttle in r...

Re: Southport Sail

This was an excellent trip, even if I missed most of the chatter because the skipper on my boat forgot to plug in the antennae. :D The best part about the trip didn't happen until we got home this morning, when my 2 oldest boys (6 and 5) ran up to Mommy and said "Yesterday was the best day ever!" an...

Re: Southport Sail

I'll be meeting everyone on the river Saturday Morning and following you guys into Wilmington. I want to spend some time with my newly minted 5-year-old doing what he wants Friday so I've had to compromise. What time are you guys planning to leave out of South Port? The tide doesn't look favorable u...
