Re: Southport Sail

I'll probably meet you guys on the water on the 30th. The 29th is my youngest's birthday and I'm getting the sense that unless I want to become a live aboard, I will be home that day. :) ....unless I get the whole family to come.

Re: Southport Sail

If anyone is still going to be in the Wilmington area anyway, there's no reason we can't get together one night and maybe start planning the next trip?

Re: Southport Sail

I've cancelled Friday at Southport, though I'm happy to meet anyone for dinner there or in Wilmington. I'm going to remain hopeful that Saturday gets better but if the entire even is cancelled, I'll try to get out SundAy morning before I have to leave town again. This stinks, I've been looking forwa...

Re: Southport Sail

If tropical system Ana doesn't settle offshore and give us the 45mph gusts the NHC predicts, Saturday may be salvageable. Unfortunately Friday for me (who will be sailing down to Southport from Carolina Beach that afternoon) isn't looking to good right now. (Due to my inexperience, if I'm not alread...

Re: Mast Raising Magic?

That looks cools, but where do you store that massive metal frame once it's up?

Re: Southport Sail

Just in case they run out of 30amp spots, will this adapter suffice?

For $14.97 I think I'll get one to have just in case. (If a marine 50amp is the same as an RV 50amp hook up)

Re: Don't take it personally

That board is funny, they'll rip anyone apart who doesn't trim their sails perfectly, sail solely for the purpose of racing or chooses one of the half a dozen approved boats....then wonder why sailing is a dying sport.

Sadly, there are too many of these types outside the Internet as well.

On a related note, where are you keeping her in Wilmington?

This area is lucky to have several other Mac Owners nearby.

Re: Distance, NC

I planned for 12 hours motoring @10 knots to get to Beaufort from Wilmington, which is probably a little under halfway.

I'm thinking 3-6 days?

Any reason your motoring and not trailering?

Re: Suzuki DF70A or DF90A uprade from Honda BF50 carb?

Just to throw it out, I love my new Yamaha 70hp. It pushes my barge up to 27mph* WOT (Typically @24-25) with ballast out and @19-21 with ballast in. It absolutely sips fuel too. *One time achievement As measured on Garmin GPS with 1 person, light winds and flat ICW SENCMac26x Would love to see your...
