Re: etec 90 rpm issue

Agree with all the above, the fact that the 15 pitch doesn't raise the revs logically indicates that either the tacho is wrong and it is cutting out at normal 5600? or there is a fault causing it to cut out early but either way if you don't want to go to the dealer I would favour Rays method as it t...

Re: wheel tamer

Even if you manage to fix the wheel in place you still need to be careful going forward as just heeling the boat a bit can veer it of course and once going usually needs over correcting to bring it back.
AP is good but you can certainly do without as I have found after the motor burnt out.

Re: Galley basin drain tailpiece replacement

Got me thinking now and as I will be working on that part of the boat today and do need some other gear sent from whitworths or bias will check it out. Before I get to that though got to work out how to fix the fuel filter under the seat, I thought the bolts were accessible from the back but oops, l...

If the boat is still here next year I can see this happening but think I would leave the windows.

Re: Galley basin drain tailpiece replacement

Never really thought about replacing the whole fitting but then the tail on mine isn't broken but am just now replacing the drain hose again where it goes through the bulkhead behind or under the galley, pity would have been a good idea but keeping that hole small is also a good idea in keeping out ...

Re: heeling and height-challenged crew

chuckle . . ah the old tip the porta potty trick - the ultimate angle of heel test. I do have a reputation for that both in the :macm: and dad's old yacht. But now the sucker is lashed down. It 'aint go'in nowhere now - well short of a complete capsize of course. The test for the missus on our boat...

Re: Help Etec Prop again

Just an update on this, found a hydrus prop and under list price here but still way over what you would pay in US and dearer than I could import one too. After reintalling the power thruster blades on the 15hp honda and beefing up the damaged cavitation plate with a piece of stainless plate got game...

Re: Fuel tanks

I read somewhere that the compartments in the rear of the cockpit on a 26x will hold up to a 12 gallon tank. I would like to find a the largest tank possibile that fits these compartments. I bought a 12 gallon Mouller "low profile" tank that would fit the compartment if......you could get it in the...

Excellent, great job, did you find the pure white gelcoat matched the existing? or did you just spray to the edges of the top.

Re: Golf cart batteries?

Agree totally. we have in effect a start battery but it is or can be used in conjunction with the house. As we now need two new batteries I will almost certainly buy two deep cycle 120 ah batteries, which gives me over 100ah more than the existing with the opportunity to use our spare 100ah dual pur...

Re: Help Etec Prop again

:D Found it in the archives where I had written bits about it :D ,tryed searching the other day but couldn't find it under props so after posting this morning thinking I had a 12 x 11 found it under Hydrus props and it was a 13 7/8 x 11 but see others are using 14 x 11 in standard props for similar ...

Re: 26M 2012: help rigging my assymetrical spinnaker for the

Ours is pretty much the same as Wandering except the clew is attached to a slightly longer anchor roller with a block led back to the cockpit and the sheets go right to the front stern rails though blocks to the winch which gives a fair bit more area to collect air especially when running. The Spinn...

Re: heeling and height-challenged crew

You could be right as my wife likes to sit at the top of the companionway where she can brace against both sides and on the ladder but find the best way to help is to let them control the sheets, not as though any of that has helped in the long run as she says she is staying on shore with the truck ...
