Re: Bow light keeps getting ripped off

Mount a single split nav light on the pulpit (bowrail) or even better one on either side of the cabin behind rear windows is my suggestion.

Re: Bow light keeps getting ripped off

Pic required - what sort of anchor roller do you have?

Obvious answer is place naviation lights on side of the cabin.

Yes you are right - plywood - terrific boat building material where you can see it!

Re: Experience with soft decks or flexing spots on the deck?

Mike, balsa cored decks in good condition all feel stiff (hard to sell a new boat that isn't) just don't drill any holes in your deck and check and fill any that are there or it may get the Hood yacht issue (older Australian 20 and 23ft flush decked boats notorious for spongy decks).

Re: Do you have a tender - what size?

Yes I am aware that we do tend to skirt around similar issues - but then again this is a very specific forum for just one brand of boat all engaged in one broad activity so its bound to happen...... In my defence we (Australians) tend to call them tenders (small boat to service a larger boat) rather...

Re: Do you have a tender - what size?

Interesting guys, I saw the poly castaway - could be a good solution though how would they go with 2 occupants? Sumner, yes bigger is better with inflatables (though I would like to be able to drag it over the transom and stow below - though I know bigger and stowable are mutually exclusive!) I have...

Re: 2000 Watt Generator mount for Macgregor 26M

Nice handiwork but I do hope you don't operate a generator anywhere near other boaters or campers, I don't want to cause offence but a boat moored/berthed/anchored near me with a generator banging away is very annoying, a great way to turn a sublime place into noisy unpleasant place to be. Do you ha...

Re: Is it legal to dump urine overboard?

Seems silly to ban porta potti's surely it is not the device that is the problem it is the disposal - we have a very popular lake system (brackish water connected (just) to the sea) that encourages porta potti's and pump outs and even supplies floating sewerage dump barges which are free to use - al...

Re: Where to look for 26C models for sale?

Generally if it says spinnaker and pole one would assume a symmetric, would be a very large whisker pole for a assy. That may be a bargaining point, symmetrics are far less popular amongst cruisers and racers that can get away with a assy within class rules. If you can pay a bit more up front for a...

Re: Mooring pendant and Rocna anchor on bow at same time?

Thanks for the report - looks like a great area, we don't really have much freshwater sailing here in Australia. The most popular spot in the State of Victoria is the Gippsland Lakes but they have a small connection to the sea so are brakish water to salt (so it still rusts our trailers!) Would be i...
