Re: Steering alternatives for my 19?

EZ Stik looks like it will work. I was out taking some measurements and the admiral looks at it says "why dont you just get some tube and raise everything up 3 inches ?" Hmm she has a point, I do have a spare tiller with a 2" drop so the tiller height would be close to original. Off to do more measu...

Fuel locker hatches

When we picked up our 19 it was missing the fuel locker hatches. Instead of making new ones out of plywood I visited a marine recycler and upcycled: I took this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YPLV9SKV3k4jE60uNX-Dwny7jWRTIdYX And made these: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1v_k-G9k3mue3HS8Og5cIR...

Re: Steering alternatives for my 19?

Henry I dont think turning is gonna work: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LTbXBnV6ZDo8rPiA_kFkef_tTrcQjhYX It's a 2014 Mercury Command Thrust 40 - it's soooo fat. I opted for controls and have designed a linkage to work with the tiller for steering. But I think Im about to revisit this whole desig...

Steering alternatives for my 19?

Ufff ok now that I've got the 40 installed I'm realizing that I have almost no tilt. To get it home I had to remove the rudder arms and cross bar to give me enough tilt. At that, I still scraped the skeg backing into the driveway. These new 40 4 strokes are fat and tall! I did have a 10" setback pla...

Excuse me, does this make my aft look big?

Image

On a more serious note I need to figure out what to do about my steering. I may need to come up with some sort of pin system for the rudder assembly. Suggestions?

Oh and why does Tinypic put all the preview images sideways?!

Re: New Mast

Late2sail - where you located? I'm in central Mass near Sturbridge and hit up the folks at Mass Marine Parts when I need oddball stuff. Granted a mast is not oddball but Jon has some great stuff in stock. I recently picked up rear stainless rails for $40 and a bunch of teak to make some hatches with...

Re: 19M motor install

I ended up ordering the Seastar 10" bracket, hopefully the boat will be in the water by the 4th. If not I'll probably be sleeping in the garage for a few days....

19M motor install

Finally having the motor installed on my :mac19: and running into an issue. I'm having a Mercury 4 stroke 40 installed. The mounting plate sits very close to the top of the gate valve and the motor wont trim out more then an inch or so because it hits the steering linkages up top. How have you other...

Re: 26m Docking advice and suggested reference videos?

Maybe a little like this with some practice:

https://youtu.be/huFdBaD5FU8

With the Chris Craft I can pop into any slip with ease, but thats with twin screws helping out... The :mac19: hopefully hits the water this weekend. We'll see how that goes...

Re: IT BEGINS!

Ufff It wont take me 10 days but I am stalled waiting on a few items to be shipped. I replaced all the factory wiring with Marine 14/2 and added a couple of extra runs as well. Went ahead and ordered new bow, stern and masthead lights. I removed the old factory cabin lights and ordered red/white LE...

IT BEGINS!

Picked up the :mac19: from the fiberglass shop and am dropping it off this weekend for the motor install. Before I drop it off I am going to spend this evening pulling new wiring, replacing the old corroded fuse panel, adding dual batteries, a bilge pump and battery switch with a separate charging r...

Mac 19 Stern rail options?

I've been searching for a set of stern rails for our :mac19: and am having no luck. I dont see any evidence of stern rails having been installed and I've seen a couple variants of rails in pictures online. BWY doesnt list a stern rail for the 19 neither did Dowsar. Can someone point me in the right ...

Re: Fuel tanks?

J - I was inspired by your setup with the twin tanks but cant find those Tempo's now. They've changed the design and now they are 22" long. Twin 6 gallon tanks just aren't that appealing to me. I thought about the after berth setup because I don't really see us using it except for storage.
