Board problem?

I've been off the computer all weekend and this morning saw emails about problems with the board. Are people still having trouble, or does it seem like it has been fixed?

Mods

There is currently something broken with the mods search feature. It works fine on my development computer but apparently the webserver where I host the pages is using different versions of some software and there is a problem. I am still considering moving the website to a new hosting provider whic...

New things to add to website

That's an interesting idea - I'll take a look at it along with some other additions to the website when I get the pages moved over to a new server. There are some problems with the current hosting company and I've begun the process of moving the website.

Printing

There is a modification I can make to the board which will allow for easier printing of posts. When I have some extra time (not for another 10 days at least!) I'll try to implement it. In the meantime copying and pasting might be your best bet. If you're having trouble reading the text on the screen...

Website

I'm planning on moving the website (again) to a more reliable host as soon as I find one that looks good and I can get it all set up. I should be able to accomplish this while retaining all the posts but the website will certainly be down for at least a day and I'm sure there will be some issues tha...

Topics dropping off

I accidently had the drop-off point set to a value that was sooner than I thought it was. Sorry about that. Obviously there has to be a limit of some kind and it would be nice to have an archiving feature again like on the old board. I'll have to work on that but have been too busy recently. I hope ...

For Sale and Wanted notices

Ever since I started the discussion board on the old macgregor26x.com website I have had a policy of not allowing For Sale and Wanted notices to be posted on the Discussion Board. The reason for this is that I don't want to have the board get cluttered up with a bunch of notices about things for sal...

Why don't my bold/quote/URL/font tags show up properly?

You may have noticed while reading a thread that some people are able to change the font, color, or style of the text in their message or they are able to insert quotes, URL's or things like that while in other people's messages it doesn't seem to work properly. For the people who can't seem to get ...

Inserting a URL in your post

There is a URL field that you can use to include a URL in your posts. To use it, click on the URL buttons above the message. Inside the 'starting' url tag, put an '=' without the quotes and then the URL. Between the starting and ending URL tag, put a small description of the link. For example, to in...

Additional How-To's

I'm going to use this thread to answer some questions as they come up about how to do certain things on the discussion board or on other parts of the website.

Board Registration

I have turned on user activation for registering on the board. This means that when you go to register, the system will first verify your email address by sending you an activation code. After your address is verified, you can log in and make use of the advanced features only availabe to registered ...
