I have a SPX-5 fitted. It came with the boat when purchased. Still debugging it (erratic compass behaviour) but when it works it is fine. ie it controls the stock factory steering load with motor attached no problem.J.Teixeira wrote:SPX-5 Sport is ideal for sports cruisers and rigid inflatable boats so whether its high-speed pursuits or the most leisurely cruise, let the SportPilot take you there. It is also ideal for smaller sports fishing boats, now you can prepare the bait while the pilot steers the boat.
SPX-5 Sport is designed for manual cable steered boats with laden displacements of up to 2000 kg (4400 lbs) and manual hydraulic and servo hydraulic steering up to 3500 kg (7700 Lbs).
You should ask if anione tried it in a Macgregor.
SPX-5 Sport seems to be for hispeed motorboats.
S1 Wheel Pilot is for sailboats...
Sailboats need more lever on the helm...
