Hi kadet,

Do you really expect them to produce that T22? I would be very surprised if that boat made it to production. Are you sure they plan on building the T22? If they really do it in epoxy I might even buy one.

Who knows :?: Can only go by what they have posted on FB I would say reading between the lines they have had trouble getting up and running and have been holding out for tax/business incentives from the local officials to bring jobs into their local community.

So maybe it is just bureaucratic red tape that is holding them up.

The big question will be price point as cored boats are not normally cheap to produce and it maybe only a small market. If it is too expensive a Farrier F-22 becomes a lot more attractive option to me 8)

It's too bad that Tattoo and that other trailer sailor company don't more effectively embrace their own social media outlets.

As evidenced on this one forum, (and how many others?), there is quite a fan base / potential market for the products they are trying to put out. While they are not obligated to share everything that we speculate on, it has shown how two years of silence has changed the perception of their product(s).

Engaging their own websites, blogs, FB, YT and other social media outlets would let them control their message, tell their story, and create/nuture their own communities to their benefit.

Well why are so so hot for a 22footer?

My :macm: is not to big at all :D

Would be coul if she was not so heavy. If there is a technique to save kg, why not go on with the :tat26: but save some 100kg?

With 2000kg all including motor, boat, trailer and anchors, beer... many towing cars are available.

But not with 2200kg, what my :macm: is when loaded on the trailer...

Sorry for all the quotes here - my HTML not so good - so hey kadet - your in a country that is not the usa - is it hard to start a business there? kurz is in Zürich - is it harder to start a business there?

On TV here they say that America is no good for starting a business because there are more regulations and taxes than in other places - I don't believe anything I hear on TV anymore so I really have no idea if that is true or not.

Do you think this is just because it's too hard to start the business? Man, that WOULD be depressing if that were the truth. (I know NOTHING about starting or running a business).

ps That 22 foot trimaran you mentioned looked interesting but at 80 grand i think it's way over priced for what you get. i am not a big fan or trimarans my self - have you never wondered why almost all trimarans come standard with an Armstrong hatch nowadays? I know why.

You will need to get in line. I am hoping to one day take delivery of hull number 4. 8)

This news article has given me hope this may happen after all.

so hey kadet - your in a country that is not the usa - is it hard to start a business there?
We are no better than the USA probably worse, we are often referred to as the nanny state there are so many regulations here for our own protection and different government departments to deal with both state and federal it is very expensive to get start ups going here. At least our tax is simple 10% on everything :) Well on sales anyway then you have payroll, compulsory superannuation etc..

I know a lot of our boat building industry has moved to China and the Philippines due to wage costs and over regulation that made it impossible to keep making boats here.

Yeah, that's sort of what I figured - let's face it - it's bad all over. Things don't work right no matter where you are. I guess that's just the price we all have to pay for modern civilization which beats ancient savagery, right?

I think its much deeper that just wage costs in Australia, IMHO more of an issue is they want to make a years profit on each boat they sell, then they dont get enough throughput to keep the business running and it closes down, it has happened to many boat builders here and will continue until either the industry completely dies off and all those skills are lost or they learn how to run a business in an efficient manner, I think it will be the former personally, because they all want to get rich quick.

Its a chicken and egg situation, they say they have to charge higher prices because they dont have the throughput BUT they dont have the throughput to make it economical because they charge such high prices, at some stage something has to give.

Australia has just about the oldest and worst fleet of cars on the road in the Western world for exactly the same reason.

I think there is no rush. You can't rush a complete business, the moves, and all the permitting and requirements they have to go through to get a business like this going. There are so many environmental impact issues that they have to handle, and just plain planning details, that it will take some time. It isn't like the business just moved down the street. It's pretty much a brand new business from the ground up. And while we might think our "legacy" involvement has great value, it can't really help with a brand new design, in a new material, with new target performance goals. Yes, our input may be of some value. But not at this point...not yet. And we all want to see the Sharp's succeed. We're cheering them on. But we really can't actually do much to help at this point. Except be patient. I think we'll see things suddenly start rolling along again pretty soon.

It's much, much harder to start a business in any EU country than the U.S.

Austria is one of the friendliest, though. I have ventures in both Graz and Vorarlburg
