BVI 2018....

Post by jimmy alonso » Wed May 09, 2018 11:49 am

Time for this years trip to the BVI working since Saturday on various things trailer bunks, rigging, solar panel mounts, etc. After loading the boat and filling the gas and water tanks took a glance at the right wheel and told my brother it looks slanted, sure enough the axel rusted through so now we are replacing the axel, hubs and springs. Good thing this did not happen on the road.
There is a high pressure system north of us so its windy (20 to 26 mph) and with 4 to 6 foot seas. So its not so bad to be working on the trailer. Hope to be leaving tomorrow or the day after.

14 year old rusty axel :

Jimmy,

You and David be sure to have a safe trip; and when you get to BVI, try to get a shot of your tiny, teeny :macm: anchored among the big cruisers :D
