BVI 2019

Post by jimmy alonso »

Left Combate Puerto Rico Monday after a weekend of getting everything ready and storing provisions, clothes, filling water tanks, etc.
Today is Wednesday and was going to be a rainy day so we stopped at Patillas Puerto Rico after getting gasoline at Salinas Marina Tuesday and spending the night in mangrove at Cayo del Barco. Tomorrow if weather permits will head for Vieques 31NM from here. Then Saint Thomas and St John Island.

Here is my inReach tracking page: https://share.garmin.com/JAlonso

Just leaving the ramp.

Made it to Vieques 30 NM @ 5.5 Knots still rainy but it looks worse than it was.

Installed a camera on the bow worked pretty good will improve on the install later. Used a cheap camera and a car transmitter and receiver connected to the chartplotter.

Screen shot on the Raymarine MFD at anchor. Nice water temp :)

Photos are stunning! Thanks so much for sharing!

Did you have to motor due to lack of wind or time constraints?

Looking forward to seeing solar upgrades.

Scenery just seems to get better with each post. Hope you get some sailing in soon. Doesn't look like you're suffering much, though :D .

Wednesday Sailed 17 NM to Anegada. Autopilot all the way anchored behind the charter boats, patched dinghy that has a air leak.
Small waves and nice winds = good sail

Saturday. Short sail to Norman Island for a total of 46 under sail and 171 motoring. Sailed downwind tested new whisker pole and preventer line setup.
Cleaned the yellow stuff off the boat bottom.
Will stay moored here Sunday also and do more snorkeling and hanging out on the beach.
