Hello,
I purchased an oxidation remover compound to try to restore the gloss racoon strip on my X. I think it is this one from Meguiar: https://www.meguiars.com/marine/product ... -oz-liquid
I am suddenly thinking about the windows: do they have to be protected? I plan to apply the product by hand, then to finish with a cotton puffer disk.

If you are meaning, should the windows be protected from the compound,
The answer is yes the compound will mar the plastic of the windows...

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your input! Do you know that from facts, or do you recommend not to try? I was thinking that a plastic window polish may even be more abrasive than this Megular's compound. I might be wrong but I was thinking both products would be very close, if not similar...

It has abrasives in it and the windows are plastic not glass so they are more susceptible to being marred or scuffed. If you are careful and avoid the windows you should be fine. If you really are worried you could probably get some wide blue painters tape and put a few strips along the lower part of the window which would help protect the windows.

Thanks for the precision! I will not take the risk and I will tape the edges. More work but I guess the boat will be happier, right?
