Post by kurz » Sun Jun 16, 2019 3:36 am

Hello
I want to find better mit place for the OB and then have it fit to the exact position when using the OB disconnect.

Can you mesure out in an easy way to get it?

Thanks.

The error on my stationary mount appears to be about 1/2 inch. This is with rudders and outboard dead ahead.

I still need to test in the water Before I relocate or modify mine. The photos are based on measurements only.

Hopefully someone else will have a tested position.

First picture shows the error between ball and socket with motor straight ahead.

Second and third pictures locate my bracket position.

You may want to set yours up and test it rather than use mine. Not sure how consistent the brackets and linkages are between boats. Also, there is play in my rudder brackets that may change the position.

Theoretically, I should be able to move it toward the motor by 1/2 inch to be correct.

Good luck.
