Adios

Post by Captain Steve » Sat Jan 18, 2014 4:25 pm

My Mac 26X sold last week, and I am actively looking for a Ranger Tug 25. Arthritis forced the sale of the Wildest Dream and now its on to a power boat. I have been on this list since 2001 and have enjoyed the content and characters that this site provided. My wife and I fondly remember the San Juan Islands group in 2003 and trips to Catalina with other local members. I am the proud holder of the title of posting the 50,000th and 100,000th messages on this board! A fact perhaps only known by me???

I encouraged the buyer to join this list and the knowledge is obtainable no where else. I am now Captain Steve on www.tugnuts.com

So long everyone.......

All the best Steve, to you and the Admiral.

Your advice about backing into a slip is the most used piece of advise I have ever retrieved from this site, and there have been many good ones.

I really like those Ranger Tugs. They seem to be the complete package. And a logical segway from our Macs into the power world. I'm sure you'll have many a fantastic voyage.

Best of luck to you. Hope your new boat will provide less physical stress and more enjoyment. You are fortunate to have sold your boat.
I keep looking at the boats listed on this site and cringe at how long the list has become. It seems the turn over is much lower than when I first visited this board in search of a boat. In 2008 boats posted and sold in very short time periods. I missed several opportunities on boats posted only for a few weeks. Hope your search for a Tug goes well!

FYI a few year's ago I had some issues with joint inflammation. I eliminated eating all processed foods, flour based products like home made bread and all processed sugars. Now I just eat (more than I should) fresh fruit, veggies, meat and fish,no pop. Problem eliminated. A totally normal diet of real food. I roll 67 in a few months and no more inflammation. When the Holidays hit I start snacking on the candy and cookies. Like magic the inflammation and stiffness is back in a few days.

You are taking the same path my wife and I took. In November we traded in or 2001 X and bought a 2014 Ranger 25. We are still on a learning curve, but are loving it. We had to get a more "bridge friendly " boat for out here, plus my wife was ready for less drama. We enjoyed the times we had with our Mac, but wanted something we could stay on for extended periods. PM me if you have any questions. On a side note, I have a cruising spinnaker with a chute scoop that we only used once for $300. I'm going put it on Craigslist but thought someone on this board might be interested.

By the way, I'm in Jupiter Florida now, not Albuquerque. I guess. I should change that. :)

SashasDad,

Do you have a picture of your boat, flying this spinnaker?
I would be interested, but the admiral likes to see pictures before purchasing :)

I joked a bit about going to a Ranger tug in the MMOR IV thread, but truth be told, if I had to move to a power boat, the Rangers would be on the short list, for sure, though probably not the 21 I posted.

Especially the R-25SC (below). 8)

Do come back and let us know how you like the boat, once you get it of course.
