Name plate redux

Post by Ixneigh »

I have a possible line on a self adhesive etched SS replacement for the plastic graphics.
I intend mine to read MacGregor 26 M
Not sure on price yet
Can I have a show of hands so I can tell the guy and maybe come up with a working quote.

Thats briljant. Never even crossed my mind. I may have to take a trip down to our local trophy guy and see what he can come up with. His prices for name plated etc are pretty reasonable. Great idea.

This is a continuation of this thread http://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/v ... 3&p=288409

I would be very interested if it used the original logo on something like this.

Nine years in the hot Texas sun have destroyed my stickers as well. There are now two clear black plastic ovals... I am not interested in paying to put the MacGregor logo on my boat though. I will probably put my boat name on there instead.

looks like it might be around sixty dollars a set if ten sets are ordered. the choices were ss or aluminum with two holes and adhesive backing. i dont want holes in mine, and its simple to add them by the user if wanted.

Hey Ix,

I'd be in on it for $60 if it looked nice. Can you get some mock up of what it would look like. I would want it to completely replace the factory plate in the exact location and size.

This is probably something that many local places could do, but perhaps some group savings and membership in the SS Macgregor plate club would be a perk.

I had a customer 18 years ago that did these sorts of things. I should look them up. They seemed to be focused on big runs though.

Hey Ix. I'm not interested in one, mine still looks brand new, but I just want to suggest that it might be an easy thing to have them made with a small divit in the correct locations where the holes would go. That way the holes would line up with the original holes in the boat, if the owner decided to drill them and mount them that way.

For the record, mine is still brand new looking. But cheap and plasticy looking. A nice SS plate would class up the boat big time.
