Around here we have to buy 91 octane to be sure of no ethanol(alcohol). My boat runs better on high octane fuel from a regular gas station than from what you get on the gas dock or any marked fuel even marked premium.

Regular 87 has the most ethanol and goes stale in months.

I just bought a new small engine and the instructions said to use fuel stabilizer every time with 87 octane.
