Physics Teacher, I hope your trailer project is going as planned. I am in the process of putting POR15 treatment on the springs, axles, U bolts, and adjacent areas of my travel trailer. I prepped today by sanding the surface rust as much as possible. It was my Memorial Day project. Did a lot of reflecting on lost shipmates (Vietnam 67,68,69) while under there sanding away. POR15 goes on tomorrow weather permitting. :)

I think it's going OK. I'm actually having the shop kids at the high school where I teach work on it. Our school year runs until the end of June, and the shop teacher was looking for some projects for the kids to work on.
Our sailing club (the MacGregor Yacht Club of BC) purchased a Go Hoist a couple of years ago. It works pretty slick for lifting the boat off of the trailer:

It took about 90 minutes to lift the boat off (first we lifted the back end, inserted the rear blocks, and then we lifted the front end). It's pretty stable (I climbed on and off the boat several times, and it was solid). I then took the trailer to the school where I teach.

The students got the first coat done today. The only mishap was one girl who realized that using solvent to remove the paint from her hands also removed most of her graduation manicure. :P
I suspect I might have to do a little touching up of spots that they missed, but when I checked in on the students they seemed to be pretty keen on the project.

Thanks again for your advice!

I don't know, Kelvin. I think if you are having a crew of young students, especially young ladies, paint your trailer, we are having two entirely different POR15 experiences! :D But, more power to you. Got my acid wash drying as I type. Next task is to crawl back under with all my protection gear and slap on the POR15. I'll be careful so I don't ruin my manicure... :D
