26X Trailer 2nd axle

Post by Doug »

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered in the past, but I am unable to find the info. I'm adding a second axle and need to know what the drop is, spring spacing and backing plate.

Thanks,
Doug

Two Axle Trailer in the mod section should have everything you need.

If you still have questions, PM me and I'll be glad to answer if I can.

Possible to post details here since the mods page is down?

Say, I've been looking at this quite a bit, and most of what I've found points to Chips article in the Mods page.

Since the mods page is down, any possiblity of either posting it here, or pm'ing the details?

My mac has been in a slip for several years, and we've recently moved. So last weekend I got the trailer in 'shape' and pulled her out of the water and brought her up to our new house.

I'm actually looking forward to getting a bunch of stuff done, and one of the first ones I'd like to do is get the dual axles running on the trailer.

Thanks!

Very nice. Thanks!

Answers at least a couple of questions for me, regarding how the to attach the new axles.

Welding looks like the way to go.

Seriously considering this mod...

Hi Scott,

Nice job on the trailer. When I had a second axle added to my trailer, they reused the original fenders, and added another pair. The weld on one of the fenders failed on our most recent trip, and I now have 4 wheels and 3 fenders. Any info you could provide on where your classy fenders came from would be most appreciated.

I cant recall the name of the place but iit is the local Trailer sales and repair shop. They had a stack of them behind their shop. Same with the axles. One stop dual axle mod shopping.
