Does anone know how much a new 2003 M Mast would cost?
I bent mine this weekend, trying to raise it. Did not check to
see if the cables were clear and of course one was not.
yes it will and did...i guess another lesson learned in the school of
hard knocks. seems like evertime we set sail we have an incident.
i am seeing there is a large (expensive learning curve) to sailing.
All i can hope for now is that insurance will cover this.
i should have named the boat "Ship Happens" becuse it does to
us quite often.
I tried to fit mine under a tree last month. Quote from Kelly hanson was $955 complete, or $655 pre-drilled only. I opted for the completed mast.
You may have to get a different bail for the mast raising support as the original mast is larger than the new extrusion by "quite a bit". Don't know what shipping is for you?
i j ust spoke with the surveyor who is going to come look at the boat for the insurance company, he told me that i should get a complete mast ready to stand, as i have no experience in drilling and properly rigging a mast.
and also to include the shipping price in the quote. hopefully they will deliver to the house. We live in Smyrna TN not sure on shipping cost.

Don't know about the mast but ...
It's a lot easier to break stuff with the old mast raising system. I just yanked my mast up with the new mast raiser on my 03M and the 2 great differences are:
1. You are standing on the bow watching the mast and all the rigging going up at the same time, not cranking the winch in the cockpit with the lines all around you and especially behind you. Your vue of whats happening is 100% better.
2. When you see some thing is wrong or caught up you just stop winching...and fix it...the new mast raising system has an automatic lock on it..when you stop winching it holds the mast where it is. Thats way easier than winching and cleating the line on the old system.
