We've parked our truck and boat trailer at or near ramps all over the country. Some places have extended parking at no charge, but they are rare. Most places, especially in more urban areas, will charge for parking. Security for vehicle and trailer is the thing I've fretted most about. Biggest problems experienced so far have been a broken boat trailer tail light (Lake Powell), and a nasty raid by mice at an RV park in Virginia, where we left the truck parked while going down the ICW. We now leave mothballs in the truck when parking it for an extended period.

8) Last weekend we launched at Fairhaven Wa near Bellingham Wa., it is a great launch for the SanJuan Islands. 7 days Free and longer if arraingements are made at the Alaska ferry dock this location is next to a AmTrack train station and Alaska ferry dock . The secuarity is ok the Border Patrol hangs out there quite a bit. There are 2 or 3 Mac's at the dry storage there. $5.00 launch fee. Low tide is a little difficult when a North wind is blowing but we did it.
