HAVE YOU TRIED FIXING CHAIR BESIDE MAST

Post by shehzad »

I had visited one of the marina's in Valencia (Spain) and saw couple of macs.

IOne of them had, fixed two individual chairs, very near to the base of the mast. This was made in such a way that it was not effecting any position of the boom. I was unable to take the picture at that time but when I returned home and planned to do the same, I realised that there was not enough strong ground in that area where chair could be fixed and could hold the weight of the chair and a person.

I am wondering, if any one has done this modification or can some one please guide me, how to acheive this as this place is very ideal to enjoy fishing or relaxing.

The shape of the chair was some how like the link below.

Where they forward or aft of the mast and did they look like they came off when using a jib?

It was in the forward of the base of the mast.

since the boat was parked on the birth, therefore could not realise, about the question of jib.
Suppose, if they are using Genoa, then both chairs would be lying on a free space and geneo would pass through very easily, while changing direction.

Finally, I have come to the conclusion that the best place for installing two charis is just after the mast base, before the hatch opening. This is white engraved place and seems to be strong enough to hold the weight of two persons.

Please feel free to give advice.
