galley sink faucet
I tried a search for sink faucets to no avail. It’s the standard pump the 02X comes with. Working alright until I changed out the four year old water. I tried the same model from the head sink and that one doesn’t work either. I took it apart and brought it into the kitchen. It appears the bladder, hose, and faucet have to be air tight to operate. I’ve got the bladder connection on ‘open’ but the pump fails to bring water up through the tube. My girl friend says, “Maybe you have to prime it somehow.” Right.
I’ve got the bladder in the sink all filled and hooked up. I pick her up by the armpits and sit her in the sink on top of the bladder. She squishes the bladder down and this swishes water up through the tube to the faucet...and it works, that is, until she hops out of the sink. Then air gets in. Must be the faucet. Sounds like a plastic ball rattling around inside. It says ‘free flow product’ under the handle but I can’t find it with a google search. Anyone ever locate a replacement? I don’t want or need one of those electrical pumps.
I solved the problem I had getting the Yamaha high thrust to fire up right away. The dang gas line gets air locked. Line runs from tank to a glass filter, then to motor. Unplug motor and insert something to open gas line and swish gurgle swish and the thing’s finally pumping gas through.
Am I the only one? Next time you’re with your boat check out the steering radius. Mark your wheel for dead center with a piece of electrical tape. Turn to port. The wheel turns an hour and fifteen minutes (one and a quarter turn). Turn to starboard. The wheel turns an hour and forty minutes. Significant difference in the angle of the motor and rudders. Or is it just mine?

Re: galley sink faucet
Good to hear from you, John. Sounds like the check valve is bad. Most RV supply shops have similar hand pumps for sale. You used to be able to get rebuild kits for the old metal ones, but it is probably cheaper to just buy a new plastic model now.
On your steering problem, I would disconnect the linkage from the motor and then count the total turns lock to lock and divide by 2. Center the wheel, then modify the steering arm on the motor to correspond to that new dead center position.
Good luck,
~Rich

Re: galley sink faucet
Seems like those pump faucets were made by Whale. Should be threads here about all the details.
When mine broke I spent about the same money & bought an electric pump replacement, now I can wash both hands at the same time.

Put the pump inline with the water tank, hook up the pump to 12v, done deal.
I kept the manual one in the head as a backup.
Several manual pumps are available, along with repair kits I believe for your model hand pump.

Re: galley sink faucet
I have a basically new Whale "Flipper" faucet which I'll never use - it was factory-supplied on my 1997 MacX, but when we changed over to a pressure system I just wiped it off and put it in stock. It only saw very minimal use from new.

Re: galley sink faucet
The galley-top water pump faucet will work out of an open bucket. The water bladder does not have to be airtight. Just take it apart and coat everything with vaseline including the ball bearing that works as the check-valve.
