Re: CQ CQ CQ de KD4LZL
I need to make a complete list of Hams on the board. Perhaps we can run a contest? WAM! Worked All Macs award. Multipliers for multiple bands and modes. What a hoot! I like the idea of working field day from the Mac. I've messed with backstay and verticals on other boats, and loaded dipoles on my old V-17, but none were really satisfactory. I'm thinking of running a wire from the bottom of the compression post to through the bilge and up the transom on the inside. from that point, I will load it with my auto-tuner between the wire and the backstay. Should make a nifty loop antenna and require no ground. Might work great down to 40M and fair on 75/80M. Best part is, I can test it with the boat on the trailer. I'll let you know how it works out.

N9OHG up here in Everett WA.
Lost all the HF gear in a fire in the moving van that moved us here from WI.
Still play on 2M as that was in the car we drove out in.

Sounds good. Dayton is a place every ham needs to go at least once.kleinhhl wrote:W5TAF here in Tulsa, OK.

I will be checking in with the Maritime Mobile Service Network while I sail from Isla de Mujeres, Mexico through the Dry Tortugas on the way to Key West next week. If anyone would like to make contact with me, the net is on 14.300 MHz, on the hour, from noon through 9:00pm EST. The boat's name is "Joli Spot".
