I spent night before last in Rock Hall, MD - a quiet little Eastern Shore town that's mostly marinas. Nice sail over, but the high north winds yesterday morning brought some extra-heavy chop that gave me quite a ride home. (I should have listened to the Small Craft Advisory before I slipped my docklines, then stayed till noon or so and just motored home. Winds were around 10-15 kts from 0900 to 1100, slowed down after that, and I was becalmed a couple of hours in the afternoon because I was too stubborn to power up the "iron genny".)
This is Waterman's Crab House, at Rock Hall; this is one of two harborside restaurants that have entertainment on weekends. I got there after 1830 on a weekday evening, and the manager (I'd called ahead) said okay to my staying over after dining there - "but the restroom closes when the bar closes, and you need to be out of here before 10 AM." They have a nice view of the harbor, and live entertainment most weekends - which is causing friction with a large marina across the harbor, so the last set and last call ends at 10 PM.
Sunset at the Waterman's Crab House pier. The sky was too clear to give much color, and it was washed out by the foreground details (such as my stack-pack).
