Top Deck Surface

Post by Scottie »

Is it possible to keep the top deck surfaces looking as new?
Thanks

We use Starbrite non-skid deck cleaner - it works great and looks good.

I have used a pressure washer to clean out the non-skid before and it does a good job.

I've got the Starbrite non-skid that I'm planning to try this weekend.

But I've never gotten that brand new shiny surface back on the non-skid, or for that matter, the rest of the boat.

A flick of 2000 grade wet n dry and a polish with the old fashioned car paint restorer stuff (t-cut or better something paint sprayers use to finely feather paint repair patches) gets the surface as new... the only way to get rust stains or blueberry birdhits off!
The other stuff is a nightmare.
check out 'Knot sure' as he's done some funky stuff. The black will polish up too...

I just cleaned mine with some Simple Green All-Purpose and a soft brush. Looks good as new! :macm:

Isn't that abrasive?

Simple green and a stiff brush works great. I then wax the non-step surfaces that I don't plan on ever stepping on like the sides by the windows.

After you have pressure washed it, then cleaned with above suggestions, finish with starbrite non-skid then get a jar of Sure-Step from Aurora Marine and give it a waxing with it. It is not slippery but it does provide a protective coating that makes future cleaning easier. I have been using it several seasons now.
