Does anyone know how much higher the spinnaker hound is mounted above the forestay hound?
How about that chutescoop, does it require a pulley block attached to the spinnaker hound to operate?
I have measured the distance from the forestay hound to mast top and it is 6' , six feet from mast top down to forestay hound bolt hole. So the forestay goes 24' up from the deck.

Re: Spinnaker Hound
I bought a spinnaker on e-bay two years ago, without really sure whether it was a Mac spin or not--went roughly by the size.
Put one additional hounds above the upper one, which is the forestay for the furled cover. Eyeballed the distances: 1/3 to the top of the mast. Added a pulley. When we deployed the spinnaker, it worked just fine: you pull the spinnaker in its sock with the forestay. The sock has its own pulley and its line. Pull the line, and the sock goes up, freeing the spin. The sail was a little larger than ideal, but it still worked, even without a pole. It hangs a little below the deck, but that's fine. When the chute gets its wind, it billows out nicely and works like a charm.
I keep the extra forestay in place and attach it, as an extra security measure, to the pulpit, even when we don't use the spinnaker.

On the
, I just use the jib halyard. As mentioned the spinnaker is actually attached inside the chutescoop.
Re: Spinnaker Hound
I changed the masthead cheek blocks for doubles, and fly my Parasailor2 from there...no problems so far!
Always a beautiful sight when it fills with air.

Here's my Spin Hound it is a mast head set-up as I have a back stay , you can see my genny hound is 31 1/2" down from the top of my mast .

You will need to know the Max Luff size of your new Drifter thats what will determine where you will mount the mast hound also remember this measurement will be taken from the end of your three foot bowsprit "Not The Bow " and up the mast and remember you will want to add a couple of feet so as you can raise or lower the spin height with the Spinn Halyard & Tack line , also take into consideration the bowsprit will increase your "J" measurement so remember that when ordering or buying new spinn sheets

PS Remember if sailing with just the Spinn you can attach the main halyard to the end of your boom snugg it up then tighten up the mainsheet you now have an efective backstay
