America's Cup and San Diego!
Nov 12 to 20 this year for the World Series A/C. Anyone know where we could store our trailers and cars for a stay of a few days? We might want to leave our boat there for entire event. For sure, we'll drive there for a few days.

Hi Mike--I've just done a survey of boat storage yards looking for a place for mine. First Watch Marine has a smallish but very convenient parking a few miles from the Shelter Island boat ramp. Their contact info is at http://www.firstwatchmarine.com/. It's a self-serve lot, it's got room, and I'm sure they'd be happy to accommodate a couple of days at a decent rate.mikelinmon wrote:Nov 12 to 20 this year for the World Series A/C. Another option is to simply park free at the launch ramps if you can leave your trailer attached to the vehicle. San Diego allows 72 hours of attached parking for tow vehicle and trailer at all of the ramps. You can just move your car from Shelter Island to Sweetwater marina if you need to go longer. These lots might be full during A/C, but there's a big and less frequently used ramp at Mission Bay that almost always has room. Sweetwater does not have adequate parking and is frequently full. You must leave your tow vehicle attached unfortunately.
There are other good options as well: Aquarius Marine operates a large storage lot about five miles from the bay but they have pretty restrictive hours: http://www.boatsandiego.com/Default.htm
Shelter Island Boat Storage is right next to Shelter Island but they've only barely got room for one Mac when I checked four months ago. Small yard. http://www.shelterislandboatstorage.com
A lot of people actually just park their vehicles and trailers roadside in industrial parts of town near the marines. You'll see a lot of this near the Sweetwater ramp because there's no houses within miles. Not certain of the legality of this but I see them all over so they're not being enforced against.
Finally, I've got a friend who has a yard that you could probably park in but it's 30 miles from the bay. Nobody near the waterfront has any property attached to their houses unfortunately.
How many vehicles are we talking about? I may also be able to arrange storage at some of my client's large and underused corporate building parking lots.
I'll buy you a beer if you've got time while you're down here!

Hi Mike, I emailed Gary at First Watch and he says to give them a call--his number is on their web page. Here's a Google Maps of the yard:

You go straight down Rosecrans to get to Shelter Island, about 4 miles away.
