aft halyards

I saw a post by Parrothead from some years ago and still on the rigging forum but cannot find him / her on the members list. Has anyone else tried this modification (main halyard to Harken 140 assembly on base of the mast to the aft) with good results? Specifically, did the Harken 140 stand up to the task? It has a rated working strength of 300 pounds but I don't want to find out the hard way that it won't do the job - a $90 mistake.....

I have one for the main, one for the jib and they are excellent. 4th season.
Can raise the sails from either the foredeck or cockpit.

I'm still around, didn't realize that I was hard to find.

Yes the Harken 140 is still working great for my led-aft main halyard.
I've subsequently installed a smaller unit (a Harken 291, I believe) for my dedicated spinnaker halyard -- in that case it's a "led-forward" configuration, as I raise & lower the spinnaker in its chute scoop while standing in the open front hatch.

Ditto the Harken 140, although I only installed mine six months ago.

Also have the Harken 140 works great. I use it with a sail feeder for the stock main sail.

Just checked, and I'm still on the list - but even knowing what to look for, the list is a little cumbersome.

At least for me, the default when picking "P" to sort by user name, was to get a list consisting of 7 pages of names beginning with "P" - but sorted in order of "Date Joined". Since I've been kicking around here since 2005, I was on the first page, but that's still a tough way to find someone. I discovered that if, after bringing up the list of "P" names, one then clicks on the "Username" column, it sorts the list of "P" names alphabetically. Much easier to search
