Roger MacGregor needs u!

Post by mikelinmon »

Hello All,

Roger MacGregor needs a 26D for testing right away. Tow your boat to Newport Beach and stay for a vacation in free motel nearby. Maybe dinner with the BOSS. We will test, then restore your boat, all factory fiberglass repair and buff. Or, we will rent, or we’ll pick her up and return from not too far away. Maybe we’ll just buy her if right price. Whatever, we are open. Please pass the message.

Does he want it for 'testing', or does he want to use it to make a mold? If testing, what sort of testing?

No - - - I don't think so!!!!

Tell Roger the test criteria has been changed (one of the meetings he missed) and the Mac 25 is the test subject now.

Just happen to have one, on the way to your location! lol

I would have to say, this is one of the more unusual requests I have seen at a forum, ever.

Like a grocery store, asking customers if they have a food they could barrow.

Now for a serious question: Does it involve HASP testing?

He needs to rebuild the X for a 90 hp outboard. Also 6 ft cabin headroom and berths for a 6 ft person.
Also increase beam to 8.5ft.
Did I mention a Head that allows a 6 ft. gent to take a crap. :)
2 inch more headroom would work.
I can just imagine Rodger at 5ft.6 inches designing this boat for himself. I don't think he never look at the 6ft. person.

They made a bigger X. Sold it in Australia. Costs about $90,000.00 plus shipping. 28' long, taller and very nice! Still less than 8 feet wide. 7.87401575 feet.

Called a Mach 28

I'll post photos soon of the new M70. It is a water ballasted boat with bulb keel assist. Or maybe a bulb keel boat with water ballast assist. In any event, she is more like the 26D (semi-planning) underwater than the 26M (planning). The reason a 26D is needed is we need to confirm some info already known and compare to computer modeling, maybe. This is the only boat we are working on now and will be for a number of years. The deck is made. The keel is made. Bulb mold done. The hull is being done now, a few weeks in the works. The specs are far beyond any boats we sail against now. The guess work is fun but, just ask and I'll tell u, most anything about her.

hull, if I had some extra scratch laying around, and the time, I'd buy a 26D and bring it there just to get the insiders tour. :D
