Tube in the starboard rear berth-transom?
There is a clear plastic tube sticking out a bit in the upper starboard rear berth / transom area of my 2000 26X -- can you tell me why its there and where it goes. It look to be OME.
I can post picture, with a bit of help.
Also, any thoughts on best route for plumbing a bilge pump outlet without having a new hole in the hull?
Many thanks...

I'm not sure, from your description, but I think there is a tube which connects from the drain hole in the well for your outboard to the outlet hole in the transom. You might be seeing that.

I agree it is probably the motor well drain, how ever my 02X has the drain on the port side. It is easy to be sure. Have someone hold a flashlight on the drain hole and the tube will glow if it is the drain hose.
Good Luck

Our 2000X has the same tube. It is a guide for running cables into the transom back panel, without going through the interior cardboard transom cover.
On our boat, it use it to run the engine throttle cables from the pedestal to the transom, as well as all my electrical cables that go from the pedestal to the A/C distribution panel etc.

I have the same tube on my 2001 X. If your boat was set up by Blue Water Yachts, this tube is not used, as they route the control cables direct from the pedestal to the motor.

Interesting. How does BWY do that? I can maybe see the throttle and shift cables but how do they run the steering cable out of the pedestal? I wouldn't want any cables on the deck that could be stepped on.as they route the control cables direct from the pedestal to the motor.

Correct, the steering cable still goes through the aft berth and the battery cable goes behind the rear partition. All other control cables are on the deck and protected by a cover.capncarp wrote:Interesting. How does BWY do that? Sorry about screwing the quote process up. I went out to the boat and rechecked the steering cable. I stand corrected. It doesn't use the throttle/shift cable fairing.

So you still have the steering cable under VBerth. I like all the cables comeing out at the starboard aft end and the steering arm next to the exit hole. I don't trip over anything thats not there.
