Avalon first weekend in April

Post by aya16 »

For some reason the thread will not move up. Anyone still going if the weather holds? If it was like today it will be great.

I'm definitely in, short a gale blowing through. Remember, many hazy, overcast days are perfectly sunny in Avalon. Sun breaks through there before anywhere else.

Great we still plan to leave MDR at around 6am Fri. and look forward to see all that are going. The wheather yesterday was absolutly perfect warm and sunny light wind I hope it holds all week. The 10 day forecast looks ok. and last Fri. I was running around in the small boat the seas were about 2-3 feet most of the day. But the wheather is not real predictable lately.

I will keep my radio on for anyone else going over. Say channel 72 ok. if there is only three of us going would anyone want to go to the Isthmus instead of Avalon?

Dropped my boat in the water and am ready to go tomorrow bout 7-8am. Windy in morning, but absolutely gorgeous-- 83 degrees at Cabrillo Marina. May be slight wind in morning, but IT WILL eventually calm dowm for easy afternoon passage if necessary. Ch72 is okay I'm Albatross. I called harbor master today and there is a "ball" going on so harbor may fill up fast, we will call half way over nd head to isthmus if all the good mooring inside are gone-- I advise to AVOID Descanso beach and outer moorings-- too much rock and roll. 80 degrees, byos (bring your own swimsuit)
