Re: MacTrawler Avatar
Must be honest here, I thought the Mac Community was better than the rest of the boating community, and that 'boat snobbery' did not exist in these forums. Clearly we Mac Trawler types must be the lowest of the low, if we don't rate a proper response from site Owner/Admins in the time since this topic opened (March 6th) almost 5 months and no-one can spare us the little bit of time it would take. I am really disappointed. The Tattoo ones were on the page before the first tattoos even hit the market (and in three different flavours too)..Three Gypsies wrote:No answer from the administrator ?

The admins don't have the access to do it, and the owner checks in about once a year. It's been an ongoing problem with the site that it doesn't get any love from the actual owner.

Re: MacTrawler Avatar
In this day and age of instant communication , it seems like somebody could fire off a simple e-mail requesting it .
I am willing to bet there are many more Mac Trawlers on this forum than Tattoo owners , yet we have three Tattoo avatars .

As Matt has said, we are unable to affect the change as Moderators. Heath has been notified of your request and that is all that we are able to do. I'm sure that when it pops up to the top of his priorities list that he will consider it.

Re: MacTrawler Avatar
phpBB requires admin access to make these type of changes. Even then it's tricky.
The moderators on this forum are excellent. It's one of the few forums you can go on with out shielding your screen from the kids. With that said, Heath obviously doesn't have much time for admin duties.
You will not find a better source for information for out boats out there.

We hear how tricky it is , yet the Tattoo's appeared out of nowhere .
A simple MacTrawler avatar to represent a growing segment of this forum
isn't a lot to ask .

Consider this, the are formally produced boats that are bought from the factory or dealers - just like the and . The Mac Trawler is not - it is a modification to a or .
Is it possible that avatars for owner made modifications are not a priority?
Just putting this out for a possible explanation for the "delay"

In other words a 'discrimination' or at best a snub.RobertB wrote:Consider this, the are formally produced boats that are bought from the factory or dealers - just like the and . The Mac Trawler is not - it is a modification to a or .

My life operates in spurts of energy sometimes. I have several web sites I maintain. Often I just don't have time to and then I'll get a bunch of time and energy and update them all.Three Gypsies wrote:We hear how tricky it is , yet the Tattoo's appeared out of nowhere .

Yea, Heath hasn't added the avatar. Personally, I find the similey ones silly also. But I do understand that adding them requires some time to sit down, examine the structure of the forum's subfolders, examine the PHP code and update the tables. It's a PITA that seems like it should take 30 seconds, but often takes hours.
My guess is Heath found some free time and added the T avs.

Re: MacTrawler Avatar
I guess that after Heath does the trawler, he will have to do a cutter rigged for J?
