Oh, by the way Whipsyjac ... did I neglect to mention that all I had on under that orange cruising suit was my bikini .
That photo I posted was taken in Indian Arm the first week of April at an MYCBC Spring MacFoulie foul weather sailing session. Your photo at Ganges and Spector's shot at Sucia are only about 20 miles apart (Gulf Islands and San Juan's) and if I'm not mistakin', yours was around end of June and Spector's end of August. What a difference a few months makes around here, but shhhh .... don't tell anyone .
ps
Ya gotta love the MacGregor Yacht Club of BC, over 60 Mac's in the club and a ton of fun every year with lots of great events to enjoy everything the MacGregor lifestyle has to offer! http://www.mycbc.ca

Hey Wind Chime, the white sand beach in my pic is on Third Sister Isand in front of Ganges taken the weekend of the MYBC Rendezvous.... although I know you knew that. I just don't want everyone to think we Canucks have all converted our Macs to Icebreakers and wear lumberjack shirts and fur hats while sailing in July...except Bob cause I'm sure he must LOL

HEY! I resemble that comment..wait...
Early season (Late April) in Alaska.. woke up to find the harbour frozen over, but it didn't last long.
A leisurely cruise taking the boat out in late October in the Yukon. Freezing spray and a frozen marina when we got back. Had to take out at another more exposed ramp but it all worked out.
Once again from Reservoir Baskatong (about 200 mi. north of Montreal) where you can still have a sandy beach all to yourself (as long as you don't go during construction holidays...you have to be Quebecois to understand what I mean by that)
This was an excellent beach to toss the Aerobie on (http://www.aerobie.com check it out they are amazing) because the water stayed shallow you could track down an errant throw...they do sink in water.

Baskatong is very nice in July and August.
But I have to say Lac Simon, although smaller, is even nicer, especially with the SEPAQ beach at the north end, where park employees cleaning the beach usually outnumber the people themselves. Check out this photo of some ducks floating behind the boat...it looked like they were levitating. Actually the water was so clear that when I came up in the morning and looked out, I thought we had somehow grounded during the night. We were still floating in 2.5 ft. of water, as the shadow of the ducks show. I could see my anchor on the bottom 60ft away.
I have a lot of 'Favorites' this year. Our best trip was to Lake Oahe. I'll post a video from that one in a bit. Magnificent time exploring that massive lake!
Here are two from Lake Oahe, South Dakota and one from Mark Twain Lake, Missouri.
This is my favorite. We were gunkholed in Storm cove on Lake Oahe. I explored the hillsides and the creek while my wife relaxed and read.
We stopped at this beach near Mission Ridge and the Cheyenne arm of the lake. Great place to explore and swim to cool off.
This is Galactica beating to windward as closely as we could as we tacked through Hurricane Gulch on Mark Twain Lake in a good solid wind.
Heading under the Ile aux tourtes bridge on the way to the locks at Sainte Anne de Bellevue. And yes, for those of you who know the area, I did pass to starboard of the marker after taking the photo.
After looking at the photo I am wondering: is my mast really all wavy like that, or is it an illusion? Now I'll be worried until I can go check, but we got the sail up without any trouble and I figure the slugs wouldn't go up if it really were like that.
Oh yeah, I didn't even notice the stanchion and the jib. The port jibsheet looks straight though: I wonder why it bent the stanchion and the mast but not that jibsheet.
I think yer boats just a we bit "Tipsy" maybe u need to refresh ur ballast !
Come to think of it I looked just like that myself one night not too long ago !
