Post by Rolf »

Heading out to the island next Friday/Sat or the weekend after, depending on the weather. Hope to see some Mackers there.

If I can recover from this past weekend :!: and get a crew together :) Are you leaning more towards 13-14 or 20-21 :?: Either way I probably won't be able to leave until Saturday morning. :macx:

It looks like the 20-21st. I will put my boat in the water this weekend and sail/fish around LA harbor and PV peninsula all week, then be ready to go Friday morning early the 20th. I use the slips at Cabrillo Marina, which is one mile walking distance from the Cabrillo launch ramp. Aya16, I'll pass on buffalo milk but woof down corndogs, cheeseburgers, and breakfast burritos(best) at the isthmus restaurant for sure. Something about boating that always leaves me starving. Probably will spend one day at shoreline village across from the Queen Mary as well.

Ray,
You have 3 kids, yes! How old are they? We have a 4 and a half year old who is always dying for someone to play with. Would love to see you at two harbors 20-21. By the way, is that 26x on 1st street here in Pedro yours?

:D He, he, he...My kids are a bit older than yours. Oldest son-19 a student at Harbor College; Middle son 17-at San Pedro High school; Daughter 12 at Dodson Middle school...Unfortunantly, non of them are into sailing  My wife likes to go if conditions are "just right" not too windy, not too calm.

Rolf: Didn't see the second part of your message. I'm a couple of blocks away from Dodson Middle School. Hmmm...haven't seen a 26x on first street. I'll have to drive by and take a look. BTW-I'm a teacher at Park Western Place School. :macx:

Rolf The prime rib there was outstanding couple months ago.
I tried to save a few bucks last time, those drinks are 5 bucks each, So after a few I found a buffalo and tried to milk it but it turned out to be a male and the deductible from the emergency room would have paid for a whole weeks worth of drinks. The worst part was this big buffalo with a stupid grin on his face followed me all over the Island the rest of the week.

There are NO buffalo on Catalina or any other part of the US. They are only found in Africa and are called Cape Buffalo. Here they are called Bison. I did voluntary work at the local zoo and they corrected my there. No Buffalo here only Bison!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had to throw that in.
