Hi All,
I am new to this forum and a new MacGregor 26x owner. I've read the great advice and information for months and I'm really glad this community exists.
Since buying my boat I'm made minor upgrades and repairs like de-oxidation of the hull, new stainless steel handle for the hatch cover, new fuel lines, etc. I've now moved on to replacing the 1 1/4" tubing under the galley sink (as well as many other tubing). The 3 or four feet of tubing clamps to a fiberglass molded protrusion in the hull, yet there is no through hull seacock or otherwise. What is the original design for this? Does the drain simply lead to the bilge?
Thanks for your help!

That is the original design. The thru-hull is molded into the hull. Same with the one in the head. But they're well above the waterline, at least.misterww wrote:The 3 or four feet of tubing clamps to a fiberglass molded protrusion in the hull, yet there is no through hull seacock or otherwise. And make mine pepperoni.

Re: OEM Plumbing
So does the water from the galley sink go overboard or into the bilge? I have a holding tank collecting the drainage from the sink in the head. The galley sink drain is still leaving me scratching my head. If I rinse off a plate of smoked fish in the galley sink, are my spare life vests under a hatch going to smell like salmon?
Many thanks ...

Mine goes straight out to the water through the through hull moulded into the hull, I also have my bilge pump plumbed to the same outlet, I will let you know how that goes when I try it

Re: OEM Plumbing
Both basins originally drained directly overboard, through their respective thru-hulls. No trap loop in the nylon hose. Just gravity drain overboard. Every sailboat I've had drained this way. Unless you have some particular restrictions of gray water in your sailing waters, there's no reason to drain to a holding tank, and lots of reasons not to.misterww wrote:So does the water from the galley sink go overboard or into the bilge? If you're dumping into the bilge, and cleaning fish, the whole boat is going to smell like a live well.
