Hi Grady,
That would not be the very famously fast 26 Classic "Wings" next door by any chance?

Yes it is! The guy with crazy horse just finished it and rigged it out almost identical. This was the trip to worst fest at canyon lake. I race with and against him all summer.

What's with the little guy just above your mast? It looks like a bat signal for small furry animals. :D

Thanks Grady - sounds like you are in a good training ground! :). One of my big "must dos' when I eventually get back over to the US for a big trip around is to see the magical "Wings" in action 8)

See? Let me know when you are coming and I will get you on the boat!!!!!!!! It is a lot of fun racing against him and after many years of tuning my boat and me I have beat him some. He acually told me this year that I am starting to scare him.

Wow thanks for the offer Grady, I'll take you up on that one if I can get over there in the next year or two. Trouble is that by then yours might be the famously fast boat by the sound of things :!:

PS: Had to modify the middle bit of this massage as I just found out one can not have more than 3 quotes in a row - bit like sailing, always learning a new way around things :).

Probably not famous but it does realy good for an S model. This pic was at the end of this years wedsnday night races. I beat him to the mark and he finaly caught me half way down wind because I was single handing and not flying the spin.

I notice your boat (sorry I can't read the name) and Wings are both carrying 150 genoas - Wings hanked on and your on a furler, if I am seeing things correctly. My 100% headsail has disintgrated because the PO had the boat on a mooring and had no UV protection on the jib - he only used the 100% because he said he could not handle the 150. I am currently setting mine up with the 150 on the CDI FF2 furler, but I am concerned that there will be a lot of slack in the luff. Next step is to replace all the rigging and tension it up correctly with a Loos gauge - hopefully I can then use the 150 as my only headsail.

How do you find the 150 goes on the furler?

(In its own way I guess this brings us back to the post topic :))

Oh yes, Sorry about the thread hijack! No it is a hank on also. It was a used UK I purchased from Masheadsailing Gear I have purchased some of my sails from them and they are exactly as advertized. It is just a gamble if they have what you are looking for. My good regata sails were custom from Doyle. Roller fuler would be nice but it will slow the boat down.

Guess my eyes are not that clever. I was thinking you must be doing something really special to sometimes outpace Wings if you had a furler and he had hanked on! Not sure what I think of furlers until I finally replace the standing rigging and get it all tuned up. My 150 is a custom made Doyle but I don't think it has had a whole lot of use.

I'm not that far from you. I just purchased my Mac. She'll be on Medina Lake this spring.
