To the rear of one of the nicer trailers, maybe stretch the neck out a bit, anyone seen, done this?
I had a mac 26s for a number of years. I have a KTM 625 sxc or a xr650r I can use as a dual sport and would like to get back on a McGregor. .getting a bit older now. Have a strong engined camper van I can tow the set up with. Would love a set up with a bike, to have it all, you know? I understand some counter balance issues will exist. .
But would be great to head to Washingotn, Idaho, etc with the boat, bike combo.
Thanks
Chuck

If I were to do something like that I would put the bike on the trailer in front of the boat, or a rack on the front of the camper.cbig wrote:To the rear of one of the nicer trailers, maybe stretch the neck out a bit, anyone seen, done this?

Same here. I built a 2" receiver into my spare tire carrier so I could mount my bike rack sideways on the trailer, but by extending the pole tongue, a bike or motorcycle could be put across the front. The pole tongue would likely need reinforcement (welding a second tube to the bottom of the main tube with stitch welding would nearly quadruple the bending strength), but that's not a big deal.Ponaldpe wrote:If I were to do something like that I would put the bike on the trailer in front of the boat, or a rack on the front of the camper.
Have to watch for turning clearance, though.

Couldn't comment on specifics, but I have seen some creative combo's with these dual receiver adapters.
